You know what the biggest assurance in life is – love. And you know why it is the biggest assurance, because it is the only thing which can keep us going when we have lost everything else.
It is possible to test honesty in a relationship, like it is possible to test madness. But it is impossible to test love. For the sake of argument, you might say that both honesty and madness do not define love and so are irrelevant, and that love has to withstand the test of time. Honesty may not define love because the tests we subject honesty to are societal. Madness may not define love because vices can so easily attach themselves to it and thrive on it. But doesn’t madness give love the air that it needs to breathe, for without madness love just sits there like a stone, inconspicuous and inanimate. And you know why time cannot test love, because time is cruel and unforgiving. Nemesis is time’s best friend. Love is too naïve to be able to keep up with the games time plays. The match is unfair.
It might break your heart to see someone go but as they say, such is life. Yes, such is life for cowards like you and me. The path of least resistance always comes at a price. The irony is, this path aims to devour the very reason it was chosen for. In this case, the reason is love.
